Combat States

Some active abilities can put your opponent in a temporary impaired, weakened, hindered or afflicted state. Other abilities are enhanced when your opponent is in one of these states. A big part of the combat is looking for synergy between your abilities and the states they apply to your target. Each state induces different effects:

  • Impaired: The target is knocked back, stunned or silenced.
  • Weakened: The target has reduced healing, attacking or defending capabilities.
  • Hindered: The target is rooted or snared.
  • Afflicted: The target is affected by certain damage over time (DoT) effects.

While your target is in one of these combat states, a corresponding state icon lights up the bar located below their health bar. The same icons light up below your health bar whenever you are affected by a state.
